La Canalosa Situated between the villages of Hondon de las Nieves and Hondon de los Frailes La Canalosa is a beautiful, tranquil Spanish village surrounded by the L’Algaiat mountains. In the heart of the village is a church together with a hundred year old Elm tree, which the tiny school is named after. Even though it is such a small village it has 3 bar/restaurants and 2 grocery shops for buying essentials such as freshly baked bread. |

Hondon de las Nieves Hondon de las Nieves is enclosed by the mountains of L’Algaiat in the north, La Ofra and Ors to the east , Crevillente sierra to the south and Els Frares in the west. This forms a wide valley where it is pleasant to stroll or cycle admiring the wild heathers, thyme, lavender and other beautiful and aromatic plants. This area is a great producer of grapes and the local wine can be tasted at the local bodegas. Bodegas Cerda was founded in 1885. Take the tour to witness the architecture, the wine making museum and the restaurant. And enjoy the abundance of wine tasting on offer. There is a lovely Spanish square to sit and enjoy the many bars and restaurants. Market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are also supermarkets, shops and banks. |
